Just a quickie

A short hello: Effing is MIT open source, pre-1.0 but already running in production, and Effing Cloud is in private beta.

Welcome to the Effing blog. We’ll keep this one short.

Effing turns the web tech you already know — JSX, CSS, and plain HTTP — into video, with no headless browser anywhere in the pipeline. That’s the elevator pitch, in a single-story building.

We’ll dive deeper in future posts, but here’s what’s worth knowing today:

  • It’s open source. Effing is MIT-licensed and free to use. No catch.
  • Pre-1.0, but not a toy. We haven’t cut 1.0 yet, but it’s mature, well-tested, and already rendering real video in production.
  • Effing Cloud is in private beta. Our hosted rendering service is how we plan to make money, and it’s currently invite-only while we polish it.
